The development of ISL owes to the synergy and effort of a growing community of present and earlier members, including personnel of the Technological Insitute (TEI) and contracted associates.
Academic Staff

Georgios Chamilothoris
Professor, Department of Automation, TEI Piraeus. Dr Chamilothoris is the Director of ISL. He delivers lectures for the courses, Mechatronics, Mechatronics Applications, Robotics and CNC Technology. He leads research work in the areas of design and implementation of control systems, engineering education, robotics and web-enabled devices.  thor@teipir.gr

 

Michalis Papoutsidakis
Assistant Professor, Department of Automation, TEI Piraeus. Dr. Papoutsidakis is the Deputy Director of ISL, he is currently envolved in teaching the courses, Motion control and Hydraulics-Pneumatics Control Systems, as well as the laboratory practice of them. His research intrests are mechatronics and robotics system design and intelligent control methods for system modelling and simulation. He is also a senior researcher in Greek and European research projects. mipapou@teipir.gr

Emilia Kondili
Associate Professor, Mechanical Department, TEI Piraeus.
Dr Kondilis is a specialist in operational research. She leads research work in the area of process and business optimisation, planning and scheduling for logistics and production management.  ekondili@in.teipir.gr

 

Nikolaos Sakkas
Professor, Mechanical Department, TEI Crete.
Dr Sakkas specialises in applied informatics and environmental technologies. He leads research work in information systems, environment-related projects and building automation.  nsak@stepc.gr

 

Research and Teaching Associates

Dimitris Fragkoulis
A 2004 graduate of the Department of Automation, Dr Fragkoulis holds a Masters of Research (DEA) from the University of Toulouse in Control Engineering. He also holds a Doctoral Degree (PhD) from the Laboratory LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse in Industrial Process Control. Greek Scholarship Foundation (IKY) and French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) founded his PhD. He is a senior researcher in Greek and European research projects. fragkoulis@teipir.gr

 

Makis Chatzopoulos
Makis is involved in the laboratory teaching of the 'Mechatronics' and 'Motion control' courses. He is also active in the development of an Internet site for the Division III (Automatic Control) of the Department.  xatzopoulos@yahoo.com

Afroditi Politou
Afroditi is a graduate of the Department of Automation and she participates in various research activities of the Intelligent Systems laboratory.

Dimitra Lioudaki
Dimitra is a final year student of the Department of Automation and is involved as an assistant at the Intelligent Systems Laboratory. She also participates in various activities of the laboratory.

Giorgos Dikaiakos
Giorgos is a student of the Department of Automation and participates in various research activities of the laboratory.

Konstantina Stavrothanasopoulou
Konstantina graduated from the Dpt. of Automation in 2006, while participated in past activities and projects of the Laboratory.

Georgios Gafas
Georgios is a final year student of the Department of Automation, while participated in past activities and projects of the Laboratory.

Stauros Kanavetas
Stauros is a final year student of the Department of Automation, while participated in past activities and projects of the Laboratory.

Ioannis Voliotis
Yannis joined the ISL as a Student Associate in 2002. He graduated from the Department of Automation of TEI Piraeus in 2002 and has obtained a MSc in Advanced Electronics Technologies from the University of the West of England Bristol. He is currently employed as a PLC and SCADA specialist in a major industrial company based in Athens.

Neofytos Flokalis
Neofytos joined the ISL as a Student Associate in 2001. He is currently employed as an Information Technology specialist by a major Greek business consulting firm headquartered in Athens.

Ioannis Sigalas
Yannis is an experience automation engineer. He involved in the laboratory teaching of the Mechatronics courses. He now works as a member of the Technical Specialist Staff at the TEI of Chalkida. 

Ioannis Kioussis
Ioannis graduated from the Dpt. of Automation in 2007. He is currently employed as an automation specialist by an industrial systems firm.

Anastasios Labropoulos
Tassos graduated from the Dpt. of Automation in 2006. He is currently employed as a PLC and SCADA specialist in a major industrial automation integrator based in Athens.

Konstantinos Galanakis
A 1995 graduate of the Department of Automation, Kostas obtained an MSc and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Warwick in the UK, supported by a scholarship from the Greek IKY. He participates in RTD in the area of water systems kgal@stepc.gr

Panayotis Vartholomeos
Panayotis cooperated as a Teaching Associate in 2002. He was involved in the delivery of the laboratory part of the Intelligent Control course.

 

Theodoros Kalamotousakis
Thodoris graduated from the Dpt. of Automation in 2007, while participated in past activities and projects of the Laboratory.

Katerina Nastopoulou
Katerina graduated from the Dpt. of Automation in 2007, while participated in past activities and projects of the Laboratory.

Eleni Rarakou
Eleni graduated from the Dpt. of Automation in 2007, while participated in past activities and projects of the Laboratory.

Antonis is a final year student of the Department of Automation and is involved as an administrative assistant at the Intelligent Systems Laboratory.He also participates in various research activities of the laboratory.
